This year’s Garda Air Show, scheduled for September 4th and 5th 2026, will once again be one of the most popular and well-attended events in the Garda calendar. Drawing over 100,000 people to the lake to watch Frecce Tricolori’s acrobatics, Desenzano del Garda will once again play a centre-stage role in the event, drawing in enthusiasts, tourists, and families from all over Italy.
Mayor Guido Malinverno summed up the initiative, emphasising its importance to the town and the entire region. “The 2026 Garda Air Show is proof of the way it has become part of Desenzano del Garda’s identity and that of the entire Garda area. Seeing over 100,000 people gathered on our shores to share the Frecce Tricolori excitement is a source of great pride for us and illustrates our town’s ability to host events of extraordinary value.” The mayor then thanked everyone who made the success of the event possible, highlighting the synergy between institutions, law enforcement and volunteers involved. “I would like to thank the Italian Air Force, the 6th Wing of Ghedi, the National Aerobatic Team, all the law enforcement agencies, the volunteers, and the other organisations involved for their professionalism and dedication.”
For Mayor Malinverno the significance of the Air Show goes well beyond the aerobatic displays themselves. “The Air Show is much more than a spectator event. It strengthens our sense of belonging, promotes teamworking, and shines the national spotlight on Desenzano, thereby promoting our lake and our community.”
