It is in summer that the lakes are at their most extraordinary magnetic. Thousands of local people and visitors choose Lakes Maggiore, Como and Garda for its heritage of landscapes, culture, traditions and great events. This is the season in which Navigazione Laghi’s public service role is at its busiest, as it responds efficiently, reliably and innovatively to local needs. When the community calls, Navigazione answers.
And this has meant increasing service frequency, with new journeys where transport requirements demand it – additional services on Lake Garda are an example – intermodal agreements with other transport operators making journeys simpler, quicker and more sustainable, and ongoing partnerships with security institutions, as evidenced by coast guard drills. The goal is a shared one: running a modern, integrated and safe local transport system capable of supporting tourist development without losing sight of the system’s bond with local communities.
It is an extraordinary commitment which does not stop when the summer is over, and is simply the starting point for a wider vision: shoring up the organisational challenge of the summer and then gradually deseasonalising provision with a year-round service. Our lakes are there all year and deserve a stable and ongoing transport system capable of moving on from an exclusively tourist-season logic.
The great events of the summer, the firework shows, cultural events and traditional festivals are all valuable opportunities to promote the identities of our lakes and make them even more attractive. Navigazione Laghi will continue to do its part in this in a spirit of service, because we believe that investing in transport quality means contributing concretely to economic, cultural and social growth. Our goal is to consolidate lakes Maggiore, Como and Garda as top quality destinations in which transport, security, hospitality and promotion of traditions meld into a single quality experience for local people and visitors alike.
