Sunday, 4 October: Arona, Cannero Riviera, Trarego Viggiona, and Limone sul Garda will take part in the event with itineraries highlighting cultural and gastronomic excellence
The lakeside towns will also be among the stars of the “Caccia ai Tesori Arancioni” (Orange Treasure Hunt), Italy’s largest treasure hunt, organised by the Italian Touring Club, on Sunday, 4 October. Now in its seventh edition, the initiative involves more than 100 Italian villages that have been awarded the prestigious Orange Flag certification. Adults and children alike are invited to discover the historical, cultural, and food-and-wine heritage of these characteristic Italian destinations through an original and engaging adventure. This year’s edition introduces several new features, including a passport to be stamped at each event and a special drawstring backpack for each registered team. In every village, participants will follow a six-stop route filled with clues, challenges, and fascinating facts, leading them to discover the most authentic identity of the local communities, their traditions, history, and the distinctive flavours of each destination. Each municipality can also personalise the experience with themed itineraries, such as music, history, period costumes, or outdoor activities, thus showcasing and promoting the most distinctive and interesting aspects of its territory. Of all the villages overlooking Italy’s lakes, Arona, Cannero Riviera, and the charming hamlet of Trarego Viggiona on Lake Maggiore are taking part. In Arona, the day will be enriched by the Antiques Market and the traditional Chestnut Festival, while in Cannero Riviera, the participants will be able to visit the Autumn Market. On Lake Garda, Limone sul Garda will be the featured destination, where the Orange Treasure Hunt will focus on food and wine, offering visitors the opportunity to discover and taste the area’s finest local specialities.
