Guided tours, markets, workshops, games, tastings and concerts: Cernobbio town council celebrates its historic centre
Cernobbio’s Festa del Borgo is back this year on 19 and 20 September, two days focusing on the town centre, its traditions and its identity. On the occasion of Festa della Madonna Addolorata, Strettoia di Via Regina and the town’s other streets will be closed to traffic and the exclusive preserve of local people and visitors. On Saturday 19 September, from 5 pm, it will be the turn of Oltre il Lago alla Festa del Borgo organised by Cernobbio town council together with Cooperativa Tikvà, in the context of the Oltre il Lago project. The programme includes guided tours, workshops, markets, tastings, concerts and games for families. This year’s new feature is Coldiretti’s Notte Gialla in Piazza Risorgimento, featuring agricultural flavours and traditions and continuing until Sunday. Then, at 7.30 pm, there’ll be what is known as the pizzoccherata local culinary event at Chiesa di San Vincenzo. Sunday will then be the turn of Stria Longa, a culinary walk to Rovenna, before the traditional procession brings the event to a close at 9 pm.
Coldiretti’s Notte Gialla
Cernobbio’s lakeside promenade will be turning yellow on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September for Coldiretti Como Lecco and Campagna Amica’s Notte Gialla event. There’ll be a farmer’s market in Piazza Risorgimento showcasing Lake Como’s farmers, street food made by Cuochi Contadini, local wines, craft beers, workshops for children, music and shows. The event will open on Saturday at 5.30 pm with the arrival of historic lake boat Lucia. Coldiretti will also be giving the town council 31 olive trees, one for each of the town’s newborns in 2025. The evening will feature a great DJ set on the lakeside.
