Lesa, agreement with Herno for a new tourist office

A project of interest for all Lesa’s social groups.

An idea born in 2022 to rework the visitor information spaces comes an important new step closer. The goal is to bring it to fruition before the end of the new tourist season

Anew reference point for visitors is coming to the Lesa lakeside promenade. In fact, an agreement between the town council and Herno S.p.A. for a new tourist information office has now been signed, a project which will further consolidate Lake Maggiore’s, and the town’s, tourist services provision. It was Luca Bona, the town’s mayor, and Herno’s CEO, Claudio Marenzi, who signed the agreement, at the end of a long bureaucratic process involving the town council, state property and the superintendency. The new tourist office will be designed and built by the company – which has been present in Lesa for over seventy years and is now an established one on international markets – thus confirming its strong bonds with its place of origin.

It is a strategic investment designed to equip the town with a modern, functional space capable of acting as first point of contact for those coming to Lesa by lake or land. The definitive project was showcased at the presentation and is designed to offer more efficient services and a tourist service provision worthy of this increasingly popular tourist destination

The new tourist office idea dates back to 2022, when the need for a new reworked visitor information space emerged after the old tourist office transferred. It is a complex process made even more so by the site’s state-property location, but the decisive step was taken in 2024 with an agreement signed in the presence of the president of the Piedmont region. Now that all the necessary hurdles have been cleared the project is moving into its operational phase and the plan is for it to be complete by the end of the next tourist season.

Claudio Bermano, Navigazione Laghi’s business manager for Lake Maggiore, also spoke at the presentation and highlighted the essential nature of public-private partnership to increasing the area’s attractiveness.

Mayor Luca Bona explained: ‘The new tourist office fits into a wider strategy in which the local government aims to consolidate Lesa’s key tourist Lake Maggiore destination attractiveness. Tools which are already active include the new www.lesaturismo.it portal which provides information of use to visitors, news, itineraries and a constantly updated events calendar. It is this packed events calendar – covering the whole year – which is one of Lesa’s main tourist strengths, together with the consolidation of its visitor information and local promotion services.’
