Flowers blooming, parks reopening and itineraries to explore: spring turns Lake Como into a uniquely attractive destination. An interview with Fabio Dadati to talk about the new tourist season and what it offers visitors

Lake Como puts on its spring clothes at Easter. Its lake and mountain landscape is a romantic and beautiful one with flowers blooming and the parks and the lakeside promenades coming to life. .

For Fabio Dadati, Chamber of Commerce board member and Como-Lecco Chamber of Commerce tourism and culture representative, it is a “magical moment, the right time to put the winter cold behind us and enjoy the lake at the right slow pace.” In fact, Dadati advises staying more than a single day. “Staying a few nights gives you the chance to enjoy the festive atmosphere to the full, to get the hang of the boats and relax.” Easter marks the beginning of the medium-peak season. “The cafés, restaurants, villas and hotels reopen and there are plenty of people around. Employment levels are high, virtually total.”

The main cultural new features include Villa Manzoni in Lecco which is reopening after renovation work and Giancarlo Vitali Museum in Bellano, which offers a unique opportunity to explore local art. For lake lovers, Pianello del Lario offers pleasant trips out on historic boats, motorboats and yachts.

“With guests arriving and bookings coming in, this year’s season has got off to a great start after a complex winter,” added Fabio Dadati, “and the spring weather is bringing plenty of people wanting to spend time here with it. From ultra-luxury tourism to an authentic experience in less-well-known towns, the Lake Como ‘macrodestination’ has something for everyone.”
