A promenade designed for leisure-time activities, for sport, play or simply relaxation in the sun. A specialist caretaking service and an infopoint welcome visitors arriving by boat
An attractive place to sunbathe, do a little watersport – from sailing to kitesurfing – have a drink or spend a little quality time with your family, Valmadrera, and its Paré district in particular, is now even more attractive, thanks to renovation work and additional family-friendly services.
The green area along the lake’, says Raffaella Brioni, deputy mayor of Valmadrera, ‘is designed to be a leisure-time space. It is a terrace over the lake ideal for relaxation, fun and entertainment for both children and adults. We decided to make the area even more attractive with a new caretaking service, which started on 15 May, and an infopoint and self-cleaning toilets. Visitors coming to Valmadrera by boat are welcomed by specialist staff on hand to give them tourist information and advise them on the best attractions. We will also be setting up a bike area equipped with a bike repair and maintenance post as well as our pre-existing e-bike rental service,’ added Brioni. ‘Pratone is also the starting point for a path to the fort, with its breathtaking views over the lake, Lecco and Mount Resegone, and a path to Sasso di Preguda and the attractive Sant’Isidoro church. The recent installation of bus shelters and a Valmadrera stop also enables tourists to explore the area with integrated tickets valid on both boats and buses.’
Thanks to the active role played by local associations Valmadrera offers visitors sailing courses for the sporty and recreational activities for families and the elderly. One of the most popular dates is Portami al Lago – Lake & More, a sport, music, art and entertainment event.
