Sounds and flavours of Lake Garda, great music reflected in the lake

The regional festival conceived by Giovanni Sorbi is heading toward its grand finale on 26 December, concluding another unforgettable edition under the masterful direction of Serafino Tedesi

Along the lakeshore, stages spring to life as entire communities come together to celebrate music and local culinary traditions. This is the spirit of Suoni e Sapori del Garda — Sounds and Flavours of Lake Garda — the regional festival that for thirteen years has blended music, art, and gastronomy along the shores of Italy’s largest lake. The 2025 edition, which is drawing to a close with the last winter events, has confirmed the success of the initiative. Founded by the late maestro Giovanni Sorbi, the festival was created from the desire to weave the universal language of music with the region’s rich historical and natural heritage. The event has thrived from the very beginning thanks to the support of the Municipality of Gardone Riviera and of the Comunità del Garda, the interregional organisation that brings together 55 municipalities across the provinces of Brescia, Mantua, Verona, and Trento.

Since 2018, the festival’s artistic direction has been entrusted to violinist Serafino Tedesi, the creative force behind Infonote srl. Under his leadership, Suoni e Sapori del Garda has broadened its reach, extending into neighbouring provinces and attracting an ever larger and more diverse audience. As tradition dictates, the curtain rose on 2 June at the Amphitheatre of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, where the Infonote Orchestra, conducted by Tedesi himself, inaugurated the 13th edition with Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. From then on, the calendar offered over 20 events, staged in 13 municipalities. The winter programme, with concerts scheduled in Lonato del Garda, Salò, and Gardone Riviera in November and December, will bring the season full circle: the music will return to where it all began — the shores of the lake.
