An agreement signed by Navigazione Laghi and Linee Lecco, on behalf of Agenzia del Trasporto Pubblico Locale, is culminating in a single integrated ticket service on the Lecco-Bellagio sector, bringing the west-branch ferries and buses together.

“We are grateful for all the hard work Navigazione Laghi has put into this agreement with Linee Lecco on a single integrated ticket service between Lecco and Bellagio”, explains Lecco province’s vice-president and councillor for transport, Mattia Micheli. “This agreement means that there is now a public transport service on the west side of the lake, on the Lecco-Bellagio sector, which enables travellers to use its boats and buses freely”.

This new system offers significant benefits for both local people and tourists. “It’s a very important service for us, for local people using it for work or other purposes, thereby taking traffic off the roads. But, at the same time, it is also for the use of tourists visiting the towns of the western Lecco branch of the lake,” said the councillor. It is an initiative which promotes the small towns which are such a highlight of the lake. “With this single ticket tourists visiting Bellagio can visit other, equally attractive towns, such as Malgrate, Valmadrera and Oliveto Lario, making for a 360-degree experience on this branch of the lake. The concept we’re aiming for is a ‘hop on-hop off’ one in which a single ticket entitles holders to free use of buses and boats across the whole area”.

Raffaella Brioni – Deputy Mayor of Valmadrera

There’s no doubt that this new integrated ticket is the best local transport solution. It enables ticket holders to use both buses and boats in Lecco itself and get off wherever they want in the various towns of the Lecco branch of the lake as many times as they want, making for a stress-free transport experience. No traffic and parking worries. Just relaxed enjoyment of the views. Hop on-hop off tickets are a convenient and easy-to-use way to explore the lake’s small towns, including the less well known ones, with their history, culture, traditions and extraordinarily beautiful views.

Mattia Micheli, vice-president of Lecco Province promotes a ‘hop on-hop off’ formula, with a new public transport service enabling travellers to get on and off boats and buses freely The Lecco branch of lake Como is taking an important step forward in the direction of local intermodality.
