Efficiency, safety and a focus on aesthetics: no detail can be neglected in the building of our ferries. The Alessandro Manzoni and its twin Alessandro Volta, built at the Dervio shipyards on Lake Como, are examples of this. Launched in 1956, they were nicknamed “Settebello del Lario” because of their stylish, modern structure.
The other period photos show various phases of work: a boat being built at the Peschiera del Garda boatyard; work on a boat’s hull; moving a structure to the Tavernola boatyard.
