Three lakes, three distinct identities – one single, integrated system. Navigazione Laghi is a vital part of Italy’s infrastructure—central to sustainable public mobility, local development, and the promotion of the country’s natural and cultural heritage. Often perceived as a backdrop to summer, Navigazione Laghi is, above all, a daily public service—a social connector that links shores, communities, families, and workers.
Beyond this essential role, it also supports tourism, business, and employment. It is a strategic engine for sustainable economic growth, offering a more meaningful way to experience the area.
All this is also made possible thanks in part to careful event planning: we can look forward to Volta’s birthday celebrations, the 200th anniversary of Navigation on Lake Maggiore, and the lead-up to Milan-Cortina 2026, where the lakes will stand as global symbols of an Italy that blends beauty with infrastructure. When celebrating these events, we celebrate a country that knows how to bring its dreams to life—moving forward while staying rooted in its origins.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has recognised the importance of shaping the future by recognising the value of our waters and our land. It has therefore chosen to invest over €117 million to transform Navigazione Laghi into a modern institution, always ready to serve communities and actively support local institutions and stakeholders in their projects.
This is the Italy we envision: efficient, confident and proud—where beauty becomes service, and the landscape becomes infrastructure. Navigating today means embracing the authentic essence of our nation.
